This is a French-made black linen fireman's jacket from around the 1900s.

Among French vintage items, the fireman's series is particularly popular with core fans. This particular piece dates from around the 1900s and is an extremely luxurious garment made of linen fabric. The jet-black luster and rugged herringbone weave are beautiful, and the linen is thick and firm.
The details feature the characteristic red line of a fireman's jacket, but it's curious how it doesn't look overdone when worn. The red piping is frayed in places, revealing yellow threads, which is an interesting design point. All nine front buttons are bone buttons. It's a miracle none are missing.
And what's most noteworthy about this item is its size. The older the age, the fewer items are considered "big sizes," but this one is quite large, about an L-XL size. It's a size that fits many people, and there's plenty of room in the bust, so you should be able to wear it even with somewhat thicker items underneath.
